Oil and grease-resistant sole slip-resistant
Work shoes with this certification are resistant to greases and oils. They thus protect the wearer from slipping and provide very good grip on various surfaces. Uneven/sloping surfaces, slippery floors and environments with a lot of residue or waste are safe work areas with them, as slipping hazards are avoided with these certified shoes. Shoes with this standard provide improved slip resistance, up to 30% better than a conventional sole for safety shoes. This is due to the vulcanised lightweight sole. It gives you high wearing comfort and the non-slip outsole gives you maximum grip in wet and greasy conditions. This is very useful in the medical and food sectors, for example, because here (small) residues often end up on the floor, creating slip hazards in the working environment.
The shoes mostly comply with the SRC standard. This is an additional safety standard relating to the slip resistance of a shoe. This standard is composed of SRA and SRB standards. The SRA ensures that the non-slip profile of the safety shoes is sufficient on a ceramic tile floor covered with soap and water. This is common in working environments in, for example, the cleaning and catering sectors, but also in the care and food sector, which were briefly mentioned above. The SRB guarantees that the non-slip profile of the safety shoes is sufficient on a steel surface covered with glycerol (glycerine). This can be especially common in working environments in construction, steel industry and automotive, among others.
This specific standard on the oil- and grease-resistant sole is used for products by and has been prepared by Diadora Utility. The certification emphasises resistance to oils and greases, and therefore to slip hazards.
